It’s called a flame skimmer

Who doesn’t love dragonflies? They appear with a little hum and can disappear before you even turn your head to look. We think of them as the hummingbirds of the insect kingdom. They also have beautiful meanings in symbolic and mystic lore.

The flame skimmer has a special meaning for Jeanie Bekind, the founder of Nuvoworks. She’s happy to tell the story to anyone over a cup of coffee, but it’s a little too personal to share on a web page.
